It was previously reported that one of NJZ‘s (NewJeans) underaged members’ parents had differing opinions about terminating the group’s contract with ADOR.

According to an exclusive report from Chosun Biz, there are currently internal household disagreements regarding the termination of NJZ‘s (NewJeans) contract with ADOR. Their report stated that one of either Haerin or Hyein’s parents, the only underaged members, agreed with the termination while another disagreed.
Because of the laws involving minors, this alleged disagreement would potentially have legal repercussions in the group’s lawsuit.

In a post shared on the newly updated account ran by the group’s parents, they addressed the rumored strife in a long letter.
“Hello. We are the members’ parents.
The claims reported by some media outlets suggesting a ‘rift among the members’ parents’ are completely false. We are releasing this statement to correct the misunderstanding.
All five members hold a firm stance that they cannot return to HYBE, a decision made after thorough discussions with their respective families. From the beginning, we agreed that no legal action would be taken unless all five members were in full agreement. The members deeply trust one another and remain united.
Even now, the members are maintaining the same position, and we, their parents, continue to fully respect and support our children’s wishes. Despite the difficult circumstances, the five members regularly meet and continue to maintain their strong friendship. Likewise, we parents have taken this hardship as an opportunity to communicate more frequently and strengthen our bond.
That is why we are deeply disappointed and frustrated to see baseless rumors—such as family conflict or a member leaving—being reported as if they were fact. At times, it even feels as though someone is deliberately trying to sow division. For this reason, we initially thought it was not worth responding.
However, now that the names of specific members are being brought up, we feel compelled to address it.
The rumors involving Haerin are entirely false. Haerin and her parents are fully aligned in their stance. Any speculation about their family affairs is also baseless. These one-sided and groundless assumptions are causing extreme mental stress to both Haerin and her family.
The matter of adjusting parental authority out of respect for a minor’s will pertains to a different member. That family, too, has made a clear and united decision between mother and child. We ask that everyone refrain from further speculation about their private matters.
We want to make it clear: all families are supporting and respecting their children’s wishes.
Under Article 10 of the Family Litigation Act, any reporting that includes personal information—such as name, age, occupation, or appearance—that could lead to identifying individuals involved in family court cases is prohibited in newspapers, magazines, or broadcasts. Article 72 further outlines criminal penalties for violations of this rule.
Please keep this in mind and refrain from making or spreading reckless speculation about personal information.
The issue of custody is a deeply personal family matter. We ask that it not be maliciously tied to the ongoing legal dispute with ADOR.
As parents, we cannot send our children back to a company that exploits a member’s family affairs for media manipulation when trust should be the foundation of any relationship. Neither the new management of ADOR nor HYBE has ever shown us any reason to trust them—and that remains true to this day.”
