NJZ Parents Issue Statement After Group Changes IG Username, Deletes Posts Leaving Fans Speculating Internal Conflict
NJZ renames its Instagram account
On April 4, report came in that NJZ has renamed their Instagram account to @mhdhh_friends, from previous name of @njz_official. Infact it also deleted all the posts.
While no account under the name of @njz_official exists on the app anymore, their new name @mhdhh_friends seems to be made up of the first initial of each of its member – Minji, Haerin, Danielle, Hyein and Hanni.
Fans react to NJZ handle name change
Many fans speculated that the K-pop group took the decision after reports came in that some parents of the band members were against the ongoing dispute between NJZ and ADOR around their exclusive contract termination. “bye bye njz_official, you deserved better and you’ll forever be missed,” wrote a user on X.
Another fan added, “I miss my NJZ girls… What are they doing? Why are they not active on Instagram anymore?” A comment read, “NJZ instagram user is now “mhdhh_friends” the era we all sob.”
NJZ parents issue statement
In the aftermath, the parents of NJZ members released a statement rejecting reports of any kind of division among them, and asserted that they all support the members decision to not return to HYBE. “All five members have a firm stance that they cannot return to HYBE, and this decision was made after thorough discussions with their respective families. From the beginning, the members promised that they would not proceed with any legal action unless all five of them agreed. This demonstrates their deep trust and unity.
Even now, the members remain steadfast in their decision, and we, as their parents, fully respect and unwaveringly support their choices. Despite the difficult circumstances, the five members frequently meet and maintain their strong friendship. Likewise, we parents have also strengthened our bond through regular communication during these challenging times,” the parents said in the statement.
NJZ recently announced going on a hiatus after a court ruled in favour of ADOR in its ongoing legal clash.
