The parents of NewJeans members have stepped into the ongoing legal dispute with their former agency, ADOR and HYBE. Feeling that their daughters’ side of the story was being overlooked, they took matters into their own hands. On January 31 (KST), a new Instagram account, ‘@jeanz_pr,’ was created to clarify the situation. In a comprehensive post, the parents shared their reasons for speaking out, explaining that despite numerous attempts, NewJeans’ true perspective was not being conveyed to the public accurately.
To bridge this gap, they felt it necessary to create a dedicated social media channel. “Hello. We are the parents of Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein. This account has been created temporarily to represent their position in the dispute with HYBE, and we inform you that it was established due to unavoidable circumstances,” reads their post.

The parents shared that they had made multiple efforts to communicate the truth, including speaking directly with journalists and giving interviews to media outlets. However, their words were often misrepresented or ignored. Even when they tried to release statements through agencies, misleading headlines distorted their message
“Since there has been no official channel to communicate their position, we have made multiple attempts to convey the facts through direct interviews with various media outlets or by contacting journalists we know. Fortunately, some media outlets have reported our statements as they were, but this has been very limited. We also tried distributing the information through an agency, but often our position was distorted in headlines, making it difficult to communicate our stance without distortion through the media,” their post further said.
According to Koreaboo, the post didn’t stop there. The parents took direct aim at HYBE, accusing the company of using media to spread false information ahead of an upcoming lawsuit.
“While the members’ stories are either quoted in a distorted or negative light or only published in minor articles, HYBE and ADOR have been distributing hundreds of articles a day, including those from internet tabloids, without going through the usual fact-checking or rebuttal process that any reputable media outlet should follow. These articles often only represent HYBE and ADOR’s stance or contain false information. Unfortunately, as we approach a provisional injunction lawsuit, we have received information that HYBE and ADOR are distributing false articles targeting the members through tabloids to various journalists, which led to the creation of this account,” it read.
In closing, the parents expressed their regret that fans had to witness this ongoing dispute but emphasised that this account was the only official channel speaking on behalf of NewJeans in this situation.
“We are deeply sorry for those who may be exhausted by this long dispute. However, the content we intend to share through this account will primarily address issues that are difficult for the members to communicate directly, and as their current only spokesperson, we urgently need a channel to correct the facts. We ask for your understanding in this critical situation,” the post further read.
This unprecedented move by the parents has stirred up discussions among fans, with many expressing support for NewJeans while questioning HYBE’s handling of the situation. As tensions continue to rise, this newly launched Instagram account could become a key battleground in the fight for the group’s narrative.
