NewJeans has added another major milestone to their Spotify record.
According to Spotify on May 12, NewJeans’ double single “How Sweet” and its title track of the same name surpassed 200 million streams on May 10, recording a total of 200,193,975 streams.
With this achievement, “How Sweet” becomes NewJeans’ 11th song to exceed 200 million streams on the world’s largest music streaming platform.
Released in May 2024, “How Sweet” is a bouncy hip-hop track rooted in Miami Bass. Upon release, both the title track and its B-side “Bubble Gum” topped major Korean music charts such as Melon, Genie, and Bugs. The track also saw strong performance on international charts, including the Billboard Global 200.
Nearly a year since its release, “How Sweet” remains a steady presence on domestic music charts.
The song’s global popularity also earned it a spot on Rolling Stone’s “100 Best Songs of 2024.” The magazine praised the track, saying, “‘How Sweet’ continues NewJeans’ streak of delivering experimental, fresh, and original music.”
