NewJeans Danielle Features on Her Sister Olivia Marsh’s Debut Track

According to Maeil Business Star Today on the 24th, Danielle will participate as a featured artist on Olivia’s debut album. This will be Danielle’s first time doing a feature.

Danielle is recognized for her captivating vocals, seamlessly handling both low and high tones. Her stable live performances are also one of her strengths. It has been reported that Olivia’s debut track, which includes Danielle’s vocals, will be in English.

Warner Music Group’s Warner Music Korea recently announced the launch of a new global label, MPLIFY, on the 13th, and revealed that Olivia Marsh will be the first artist to join. MPLIFY introduced Olivia as “an Australian singer-songwriter with exceptional talent and originality,” stating that she has been collaborating with K-pop producers and songwriters to hone her skills, with a debut planned for October.

Olivia expressed her eagerness to share her music with everyone, saying, “I want to present my music to everyone as soon as possible.”

Olivia Marsh is the older sister of NewJeans Danielle and worked as a fairy-like child model alongside Danielle during their childhood. Before her debut, singer-songwriter Olivia has been writing and composing music under the nickname “Livy,” which she had since childhood. In April, it was revealed that GYUNA, the singer of the OST “LAVA” from the Coupang Play original series Hide, is Danielle’s older sister, leading to speculation about her debut.

Meanwhile, since debuting with NewJeans in July 2022, Danielle has received great love both domestically and internationally with numerous hit songs such as “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” “Ditto,” “Super Shy,” and “OMG.” However, since last spring, she has been dealing with emotional distress due to conflicts between her agency ADOR and its parent company, HYBE, involving former CEO Min Hee-jin. The members of NewJeans issued an ultimatum during a YouTube livestream on September 11th, demanding to return to ADOR, where Min Hee-jin is the representative, and set a deadline of September 25th.
