NewJeans celebrated a major milestone—1,000 days since debut—by posting a heartfelt message to fans on their individual social media accounts on April 16th KST. However, the joy of the occasion was overshadowed by ongoing legal disputes and a complete halt in the group’s promotional activities.
In a post shared on their personal Instagram accounts, the five members wrote, “Bunnies~! It’s been 1,000 days since we met~! These 1,000 days with you have been pure happiness.” The message was accompanied by an image of a sunflower—widely seen as a symbol of unwavering loyalty and affection—implying the members’ deep gratitude toward their fans.
Yet, the group’s celebratory mood comes at a time of instability. Since March 21st, all group activities have been suspended following a Seoul Central District Court ruling in favor of ADOR. The court accepted ADOR’s request for an injunction to preserve its status as NewJeans’ management agency and to prohibit the members from signing independent advertising contracts. In response, NewJeans announced at their Hong Kong performance that they would suspend all group activities.
At the time, the members stated, “We respect the court’s decision and have decided to stop all activities. It wasn’t an easy choice, but we’ll come back stronger. Please remember—this is not the end. When we return, we hope to greet you with bright smiles. Thank you and we love you.”
However, the declaration was reportedly not coordinated with ADOR, and company staff sent to assist the group at the event were allegedly unable to meet the members, raising questions about internal communication. Furthermore, despite saying they would honor the court’s decision, the members immediately filed an objection to the injunction ruling, prompting public skepticism over the sincerity of their earlier statement.
Meanwhile, speculation has arisen over internal conflict among the parents of minor members Hyein and Haerin, particularly concerning parental consent for the lawsuit. These rumors were denied by the parents, who issued a statement: “Reports of a rift among parents are completely false. All five members stand united in their belief that there is no returning to HYBE. The girls continue to support one another as friends, and we, the parents, are more united than ever during this difficult time.”
Despite the group’s activity freeze, the members continue with individual schedules. Minji and Hanni recently traveled to Italy, while Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein were spotted visiting birthday cafés to meet fans and celebrate personal milestones.
