All members of NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) have announced a press conference regarding the termination of their exclusive contracts.
NewJeans’ team stated on November 28 that an “urgent press conference regarding the termination of their exclusive contracts” would be held at 8:30 PM. Many journalists are already present near the venue close to Seoul’s Samseong Station.
This comes after months of legal disputes between Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR and NewJeans’ general producer, and HYBE since April. The NewJeans members, showing strong support for Min Hee Jin, reportedly sent a formal notice to ADOR on the 13th, demanding her reinstatement as CEO, among other conditions. Today marks the deadline for ADOR’s response to their demands.
The formal notice included a clause indicating that if their demands weren’t met, they would proceed with terminating their contracts. However, Min Hee Jin has recently resigned from ADOR’s board of directors and left HYBE, making her return as CEO unlikely. Other demands in the notice included verifying statements made in HYBE’s music industry report about NewJeans and protecting the group’s creative works.

The press conference announcement explicitly mentions its focus on contract termination, hinting that the members may file an injunction to suspend their contracts and pursue legal action against ADOR and HYBE.

Additionally, the members requested a public apology for derogatory remarks allegedly made about Hanni, with ADOR issuing a statement on the 27th, saying they “fully trust Hanni’s words” and urged Belift Lab to respond appropriately.
