The dispute surrounding New Jeans is ongoing, and they recently announced their independent departure by revealing their new group name ‘NJZ’ through Complex Chinese.

Regarding this, Adore, New Jeans’ agency, stated, “We feel very sorry that the members unilaterally made this choice before a legal judgment was made on the validity of the exclusive contract between Adore and the New Jeans members. We are ready to meet with the New Jeans members or their legal representatives at any time to resolve any misunderstandings and discuss New Jeans’ future plans.”
Last November, after the five members of New Jeans held a press conference and declared the termination of their exclusive contract with Adore, Adore filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract with the Seoul Central District Court, and additionally applied for an injunction to preserve the agency’s status and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts.
The legal battle between the two sides is expected to begin in earnest in March.
