[TV Report=Reporter Jo Eun-ji] New Jeans’ Daniel became the cover model for a Singaporean magazine despite his dispute with his agency, Adore.
On the 10th, Daniel posted several photos taken at a photoshoot site on his personal account with the caption “Danielle.” Daniel wore a white one-piece dress to create a refreshing atmosphere, while he also wore a black set-up to pull off an elegant concept.
Daniel, who is currently an ambassador for the luxury brand ‘Celine’, collaborated with Singaporean magazine ‘Elle Singapore’ and graced the cover. On the 28th of last month, Elle Singapore posted Daniel’s cover through their official channel.
Elle Singapore said, “From ‘Attention’ to ‘Super Shy,’ you already know NJZ’s Danielle as one of the global sensations. Gracing our March cover as she ushered in a new era, Danielle captivates us with her star-like confidence and effortless elegance.” “A girl with big dreams and a smile that lights up the scene, Danielle Marsh (her real name) is ready for whatever lies ahead.”
What’s notable here is that Elle Singapore tagged the NJZ account, which was created independently by the members of New Jeans, and not the New Jeans account belonging to Adore. New Jeans also appeared in a Calvin Klein advertisement released last month, using the names of the five members instead of the name New Jeans.
Last month, New Jeans announced the new group name NJZ through the Complex Chinese account. New Jeans opened a new NJZ account separate from Adore, saying they plan to begin full-fledged independent activities under the new group name.
Three days after the announcement of the team name NJZ, Adore requested that New Jeans’ official team name be used as New Jeans and not NJZ, but with Elle Singapore tagging NJZ, attention is being paid to New Jeans’ future actions.
Meanwhile, the dispute between New Jeans and Adore, which has been ongoing since last November, is still ongoing. The 11th was the hearing date for Adore’s application for an injunction to preserve the agency’s status and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts with the five members of New Jeans (NJZ).
On that day, New Jeans reported Hive’s unfair behavior in court. New Jeans claimed, “The essence of the incident is that Hive and Adore discriminated against and excluded New Jeans, and attempted to replace and destroy it with another group.”
In particular, Daniel said that New Jeans is a six-member group including former CEO Min Hee-jin, not five, and that “I’m afraid that I won’t be able to work with CEO Min Hee-jin, and I want to continue moving forward together,” adding, “No matter what the outcome, I have no desire to be with Adore.”
