Idol group Newzins has changed its team name to “NJZ.”
Five members of the New Jins, including Minji, Hani, Daniel, Harin, and Hyein, unveiled the new team name on social networking services (SNS) on the 7th.
Earlier on the 23rd of last month, Newzins said on social media, “I have no intention of going back (to Dorr and Hive),” adding, “We are planning to contest a new activity name to be used for a certain period of time for two days. We ask for your participation in the comments.”
The name of the SNS account, which was previously operated as “jeanzforfree,” has also been changed to “njz_official.”
NZ also announced the appearance of Complex Live, a side event concert of ComplexCon, a global street fashion and culture festival to be held at the Asia World Expo in Hong Kong from the 21st to the 23rd of next month.
This event is the first stage where the NJZ changes its group name and goes up.
Minji said, “I’m very excited to be on stage for the first time as an NJZ and show you a new side of me,” adding, “This stage is a very important moment, and I’m looking forward to performing new music that I’ve wanted to show with fans around the world.”
NZ has been operating independently since announcing the termination of its exclusive contract in November last year due to non-compliance with obligations by music agency Adore. However, Audor has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract and a “prohibited provisional injunction such as preserving the status of an agency and signing an advertising contract” with the court, saying the contract is still valid.
