The first court hearing date in the ongoing legal dispute between NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, and their management label ADOR, has been scheduled.
It’s been reported that a hearing for a provisional injunction filed by ADOR against the five members of NewJeans will take place on March 7 at the 50th civil division of the Seoul Central District Court. The injunction seeks to return NewJeans to their duties at ADOR and to prevent the members from entering into independent advertisement contracts.
ADOR previously filed for this provisional injunction last month, calling out the members for “attempting to carry out independent activities, such as holding a contest to decide on a temporary group name,” claiming that it was “a severe breach of contract”.
The management label also filed a lawsuit in December of last year to verify the validity of the exclusive contracts between the NewJeans member and ADOR. The first court hearing for this lawsuit has been scheduled for April 3 at the 41st civil division of the Seoul Central District Court.
In other news, a court hearing for the ongoing shareholder agreement termination lawsuit between former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE Labels was held on January 23 KST. A second hearing is set to take place on April 17.
