NewJeans held an emergency press conference on November 28 at 8:30 PM in Samseong-dong, Seoul, where all five members—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—officially announced the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR.
Earlier, on November 13, NewJeans had sent a letter to ADOR, detailing their demands, which included the return of former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. They had given the agency a 14-day period to meet their demands, stating that failure to do so would result in the termination of the contract.
The group revealed that, due to ADOR and HYBE’s breach of contract and their lack of response during the notice period, the contract was terminated at midnight. They also expressed their intention to move forward with Min Hee Jin, confirming that they would be continuing their activities together.
When asked by reporters about the typical requirement for mutual agreement in contract terminations, NewJeans explained that because of the breach by HYBE and ADOR and their failure to respond within the given period, the contract was legally terminated without needing further mutual consent.
