ADOR Releases NewJeans 2025 Line-Up After Filing Lawsuit Against K-Pop Band. No Comment On HYBE Staff Filming Vacated Dorms
On January 13, ADOR revealed that they had filed an injunction with the Seoul Central District Court to “preserve the status of the agency and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts, etc.” against the members of NewJeans. This move follows the group’s unilateral declaration of terminating their exclusive contracts with the agency. Now, in a shocking turn of events, they have released the group’s 2025 album plan!
ADOR’s plans for NewJeans
ADOR revealed that they are actively receiving offers for various projects, such as advertisements and events, and have finalised their activity plans for NewJeans this year. The agency said, “ADOR is receiving offers for various projects, such as advertisements and events, we have already completed planning this year’s activities, including the release of a full album and fan meetings, so we have conveyed our wishes to be able to communicate sufficiently with the NewJeans members.”
This statement from ADOR comes after their lawsuit against NewJeans signing independent advertisements. The statement by ADOR said, “Until the first trial ruling on the ‘Confirmation of Validity of Exclusive Contract’ filed by ADOR on December 3 of last year, ADOR recognises itself as the management company under the exclusive contract and seeks to prevent NewJeans members from independently signing advertising contracts or conducting advertising activities without ADOR’s approval or consent.”
The agency said that this action was necessary to prevent confusion and potential damage to third parties, such as advertisers, who might be affected by the group’s independent actions. ADOR expressed concerns over the potential consequences of NewJeans’ independent activities, stating, “If market and industry confusion continues, the brand value of NewJeans, ADOR’s only artist, will inevitably decline. This could lead to a management crisis for the agency.”
No official comment on the body camera incident
Following their declaration to terminate contracts, NewJeans vacated the dormitories provided by ADOR and began using their own transportation for activities. This move fueled discussions among fans, especially after reports surfaced that a HYBE staff member had inspected the vacated accommodations while wearing a body camera. Despite the public outcry, ADOR’s latest statement did not address the controversy surrounding the use of a body camera by a HYBE staff member during the inspection.
