NewJeans has filed an appeal challenging the court’s decision to uphold a provisional injunction prohibiting the group’s independent activities.
On April 16, the law firm Shin & Kim LLC, representing NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, released an official statement: “The court has decided to uphold the original provisional injunction, and we have immediately filed an appeal against the decision.”
The legal team added briefly, “We will continue to participate diligently in the legal proceedings and do our best to ensure the facts are clearly established.”
This comes after the Seoul court’s ruling on March 21, which sided fully with ADOR—the group’s current agency—granting their request for an injunction to preserve their position as NewJeans’ management and to prevent the group from entering into independent advertising contracts.
Despite the appeal, the court has maintained its stance that NewJeans is not permitted to conduct independent promotional activities at this time.
