On April 16, NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) celebrated their 1,000th day since debut. The group first launched on July 22, 2022.
The members posted a sunflower photo to their newly launched independent channel @mhdhh_friends, along with a heartfelt message to fans. “Bunnies! It’s been 1,000 days since we met~!” they wrote, adding celebratory emojis. They continued, “Every day together is another adventure! The 1,000 days with Bunnies have been full of happiness. Love you x1000.”

A Quiet Yet Emotional Message to Fans
Despite ongoing legal conflict with their label ADOR, NewJeans has continued to communicate directly with fans. On April 11, they posted an emotional message on Instagram, saying, “We received the letters from Bunnies. They made us cry.” The group shared that they’ve been reading every letter one by one and wrote, “We can feel every word of comfort, support, and love—and that’s why we can’t help but cry.”
They added, “Sometimes we’re scared of receiving this much love. That’s why we try harder to become people Bunnies can be proud of.” The members also expressed that connecting with fans gives them strength during this difficult time: “We’ve been wanting to talk to Bunnies so badly. Your letters mean everything.”

They concluded the message with, “Dear Bunnies, we know you’re worried, but as long as we believe we can always meet again, nothing feels too hard. The songs you love, the songs that make you happy, and the time we’ll all enjoy together—that moment will come. We’re eating well, sleeping well, listening to music, spending time with family and each other, and thinking of Bunnies with happy hearts. Please take care of yourselves and be happy every day too.”
From NJZ to “mhdhh” — Legal Conflict Continues
Last November, NewJeans held a sudden press conference to announce they would be terminating their exclusive contract with ADOR and pursuing independent promotions under a new group name: NJZ. They claimed that eight correction requests submitted to ADOR on November 13 had not been fulfilled by the deadline of November 29.

In December, they launched new social media accounts and officially introduced NJZ as their new name in February. However, on March 21, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of ADOR, granting an injunction to preserve ADOR’s status as their managing agency and to prohibit members from signing advertising contracts independently.
Following the court’s decision, the members removed “NJZ” from their social accounts, renamed the channel to “mhdhh”, and deleted all previous posts. This effectively halted their independent activities until a ruling is made in the main lawsuit.
Despite the injunction, the NewJeans members and their parents continue to maintain a firm stance, saying that there is “no going back,” indicating the legal battle with ADOR is far from over.
