NewJeans members have delivered a heartbreaking speech on day of the 2024 Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA)!
On November 16, at the 2024 Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA) held at the Inspire Arena in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, NewJeans took home the highest honor, the Grand Artist trophy. Prior to this, they were also awarded Best Artist, securing two major wins at the KGMA.
Minji began her speech by reflecting, “It’s been two years since NewJeans debuted. Over these two years, we’ve met so many people, gone through numerous experiences, and learned a lot. While there were many joyful moments, there were also challenges that required us to stay up all night discussing among ourselves.”
She confidently added, “Through those times, the five of us became stronger and grew into a better team.” Minji expressed gratitude to their fans, Bunnies, as well as their managers and staff, and extended special thanks to their company’s representative, saying, “Thank you for giving us the strength to stay united and keep moving forward.”
Hanni added, “Honestly, we don’t know how long we’ll continue as NewJeans, but I believe no one can disrupt the bond created by the five of us and Bunnies. Let’s stick together until the end.” Danielle echoed this sentiment, declaring, “Even if we’re no longer NewJeans, NewJeans will never die,” emphasizing their resolute spirit.
NewJeans heated up the awards ceremony with an electrifying performance. They showcased all four of their 2024 releases: Right Now, Bubble Gum, How Sweet, and Supernatural. They added a fresh twist by incorporating a band sound into Bubble Gum and introducing a new dance break into Supernatural, captivating the audience.
