On March 24, 2025, NJZ (NewJeans) announced through their legal representative, SHIN & KIM LLC, that they would be taking strong legal action against malicious posts and defamatory content circulating online.
The statement emphasized that the group’s members — Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein — including minors, had been subjected to severe levels of false information, malicious slander, and personal attacks online.
The law firm confirmed they were closely monitoring several online platforms, such as TheQoo, Instiz, Blind, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, DC Inside, FMKorea, and Daum Cafe, where these harmful posts were being shared.
According to SHIN & KIM, the team is already collaborating with relevant authorities to trace the individuals responsible for these anonymous defamatory posts and comments.

They are preparing to pursue both civil and criminal legal actions against anyone involved in spreading false information, defamatory content, insults, and other related offenses targeting the NJZ members.
Also, the agency urged fans and the general public to report any malicious comments, asking them to provide the URLs of the offensive posts and attach a PDF file when submitting reports via the official email address.
This announcement comes shortly after a significant legal development in the ongoing dispute between NJZ and ADOR.
On March 21, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of ADOR by granting an injunction that prevents the NewJeans members from engaging in independent activities under the name NJZ.
Despite this court decision, NJZ proceeded to perform at the ComplexCon event using the NJZ name.
Following the performance, NJZ announced a temporary halt in all activities, further escalating tensions with ADOR.
In response, ADOR criticized the hiatus announcement, calling it a unilateral decision made without their agreement, and requested a meeting with the members.
