‘Zero Intentions To Return’ – NewJeans Blasts ADOR For ‘Ending Careers’, Seeks Fans Reccos For New Group Name
NewJeans has no intention to go back to enither ADOR, nor HYBE. In a joint statement released by the K-pop group on January 23, the members exposed the label for “ending their entertainment careers” while also “secretly meeting our parents.” The five members asserted that they will never return to their former agency.
NewJeans uploaded the statement in the Instagram stories of their new handle jeanzforfree. It claimed highlighted ADOR’s lawsuit to force the group’s return. The girls said the company was trying to block them from signing new advertising deals.
NewJeans asks fans for temporary name suggestions
In a separate post, NewJeans also asked their fans and followers to help them choose a temporary new name. It posted a photo on Instagam and wrote in the caption, “Bunnies! We are holding a contest for two days to find a new promotional name to use for a certain period of time. Please leave a lot of recommendations in the comments!”
NewJeans terminates contract with HYBE
NewJeans terminated its contract with ADOR on November 28, 2024 alleging workplace harassment. The group got embroiled in the feud due to the allegations against ADOR’s former CEO Min Hee-Jin who was instrumental in forming the rookie group.

Hello, this is Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
It was confirmed through the media that ADOR filed a lawsuit to retain the validity of our exclusive contract and they applied for an injunction to prevent the ending of advertising contracts and to preserve our contract status. We were served the notice a few days ago and we have appointed lawfirm Sejong as our legal representatives.
As HYBE and ADOR have appointed lawfirm Kim and Chang as their legal representatives, we felt we needed a lawfirm to respond to this. We felt that Sejong was the best choice for this rapidly developing situation as they understand both HYBE and ADOR’s problems.
HYBE and ADOR have failed to fulfill their duty as an agency, not upholding their responsibility to protect and develop their artists. There have been both minor and major disruptions during our activities and in order to both abandon and thus replace us, they have disguised their attempts to end our entertainment careers by calling it a long-term vacation.
Even after the legal termination of our exclusive contract, we have received unfounded criticism from the media and cyber-wrecker YouTube channels using information that could only be known by HYBE and ADOR. We thus believe they are at the center of this.
HYBE and ADOR keep telling us to come back to their agency but they continue to harass and attack us as they have done before, out of the public eye. Recently, they have been secretly meeting our parents, whether it is to reconciliate with us or to further drive a wedge between us. Instead of resorting to such cowardly methods hidden from view and spreading false information to the media, we hope we can discuss this honestly and truthfully.
We want to be clear. The five of us have zero intentions of ever returning to HYBE and ADOR, where we can’t even expect the bare minimum amount of trust.
Even after the termination of our exclusive contract, we wanted to finish out our previously schedule activities and contractual obligations smoothly to avoid damaging others involved. But we decided not to stay silent any longer as we watch HYBE and ADOR harm us and others with their improper methods and refuse to cooperate with us.
We will boldly take on this fight through the legal system to clearly reveal the wrongdoings by HYBE and ADOR and tell the truth.
