YouTube Korea has revealed its 2024 trends report, including the ‘Top 10 Most Popular Topics’, the ‘Top 10 Songs’, and the ‘Top 10 Songs on Shorts’.
First, the ‘Top 10 Most Popular Topics’ took into account topics which drew the most interest of YouTube users in 2024 by analyzing views, uploads, and creator activities. The topics included the “Olympics” and the “AFC Asia Cup”, as well as musicians like QWER and DAY6, K-dramas like ‘Queen of Tears’ and ‘Lovely Runner’, and the Netflix variety show ‘Culinary Class Wars’.
Female musicians dominated the ‘Top 10 Songs’ on YouTube Korea in 2024, with girl band QWER topping the list at #1 with “T.B.H”. aespa’s “Supernova” followed behind in 2nd place, while ILLIT’s “Magnetic” took up 3rd place, (G)I-DLE’s “Fate” came in 4th place. TWS represented the only boy group on the list with their hit debut song, “Plot Twist”.
A handful of songs from the ‘Top 10 Songs’ list also made ‘Top 10 Songs on Shorts’, including ILLIT’s “Magnetic”, TWS’s “Plot Twist”, BIBI’s “Bam Yang Gang”, and Rosé and Bruno Mars’s “APT.”.
Notably, songs behind trending challenges like “Malatanghulu” by Seo Eve and “Tiramisu Cake” by We Are The Night garnered attention for their creativity at #7 and #9.
