Group New Jeans was nominated for the grand prize at the same time as winning the “Japan Record Grand Prize” for the second consecutive year.

Among the songs released that year, the “Best Work Award” is given to songs that are highly popular with the public and have excellent artistry, originality and planning. Newzins is the only foreign artist to be in this category this year.
The 10 songs selected as the “Best Work Award” will be the grand prize candidate for the ceremony. As a result, Newzins will also seek the Grand Prize at an award ceremony that will be broadcast live on the 30th of next month.
The “Japanese Record Awards” is a music awards ceremony hosted by the Japanese Composers Association, which began in 1959 and has the longest tradition and authority in the region. Even before making her official debut in Japan last year, Newzins won two awards at the ceremony: the “Ditto” and the “Special Award.”
Thanks to its hot popularity, Newzins will participate in Japan’s representative year-end broadcasts and festivals. He will appear on Nihon TV’s “Best Artist 2024” on the 30th and Fuji TV’s “2024 FNS Song Festival” on December 4 to meet with fans. On December 31, the K-pop girl group will perform on the stage of “COUNTDOWN JAPAN 24/25,” the largest indoor festival at the end of the year in Japan, for the first time in a K-pop girl group.
Newzins’ debut single “Supernatural,” released in June, topped Japan’s Oricon chart on the day of its release, and was certified by the Japan Records Association as “Gold (more than 100,000 cumulative albums shipped).” The album has sold more than 1.26 million copies so far (as of October on the Circle Chart).
As soon as the title song of the same name was released, “Supernatural” hit the top of major local music charts, and even though it was a Japanese single, it rose to the top regardless of domestic and foreign music charts, confirming Newzins power.
Newzins also entered the Tokyo Dome in Japan for the shortest period of one year and 11 months among foreign artists. All tickets for the Tokyo Dome fan meeting held for two days from June 26 to 27 were sold out, attracting a total of 91,200 spectators. In addition, he made a strong impression by exploring various Japanese terrestrial music programs.
The “Japanese Record Awards” ceremony will be broadcast live on TBS on December 30 every year.
